Acts 13-15

Written by Joel Schmidgall | May 22, 2010 | Acts 13 - 15

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:2-3

Worship OF God should lead to action FOR God. When we spend time in the genuine presence of God, it should shake things up.  People among us should step out of their comfort zone and step into their calling.

When I evaluate the most spiritual acts of worship and faith in my life and in our church, they all trace back to “while they were worshiping” moments.  Maybe if we spent more time in worship, attentive to what God is speaking to us - not what we are speaking to Him - the Church would be in growth instead of decline.  The outpouring of God’s power always leads to the overflow of His Spirit to those around us. It’s a natural outgrowth of residing in Him.  May your worship be anointed and your action be intentional as you put the Lord first today, on the anniversary of the Church!
