Garden to City challenges participants to read through the Bible from Lent 2010 to Lent 2011. Using a modified "NCC liturgical calendar," the readings are grouped thematically and strategically to flow with the natural rhythms of life and focus at National Community Church. For instance, we harness the Lenten season of reflection, repentance, and remembrance to read the books of Job, Jeremiah, and Lamentations. In October, when we celebrate Reformation Day, we explore the doctrine of atonement in Leviticus, Romans, and Hebrews. In December, we prepare for Advent in Luke and Isaiah. Garden to City will help you live the seasons of your life against the greater story of God.
During the Garden to City project, the sermon series at our weekend services will correspond with the weekly readings. You can also follow along with our daily devotional blog postings on the readings.
Take the challenge! You can jump in at any time.
